Parenting is Teamwork
Parenting is a selfless act, and should always be conducted as such. Staying true and consistent to your values in doing what needs to be done, within your means of ability will ensure your child will always see parents who rarely argue and are always unified in their support, rules, and respect for each other.
Planning Kids Summer Break Is No Vacation
I’m sure as you read this you are already conjuring up memories of last summer’s conundrum of what to do with your kids for the summer. Obviously if your kids are older it’s a little easier as they have some independence and can possibly get a summer job. But those who have kids under the age of 15, planning what to do with your child over the summer can be no summer holiday.
Your Children Are Watching You
Young children are very observant. They watch and digest every little thing we do. Every little thing everyone does. Through the course of the day we aren’t even aware of any habits we exhibit that they are digesting and learning from. Many behavioural issues children develop can be traced back to their parents’ inability to cope with situations in a proper manner. We must always be mindful when around our children of what we do and what we say, because they may learn that that is the way to deal with problems themselves.
If You Don’t Disciplne Your Child Now, You’ll Regret It Later
Remember you are the parent, not their friend. Do not reason with your child. It’s important you always understand this firm and unchangeable relationship. I’m not saying you cannot be friends and get along with your children, but understand the relationship you have with your child. It is created very early on in their development and in yours as a parent. You must understand that is your duty to ensure you raise an individual who is capable of being a proper citizen of the world.
Being Your Childs Greatest Role Model
These are changing times. The family dynamic is being redefined with each passing generation. Parents constantly trying to find the time and energy to balance work and family, let alone trying to find a little rest and relaxation. All the while the most important people in our worlds future seem to be relegated to television parenting, and video game baby sitting.
